Guide to Glamping Near Ingleborough

You might be swapping your European getaway for a staycation, but this panoramic paradise we call home has heaps to offer from beautiful landscapes and sprawling country estates, to majestic moors, working farms and luxury lodges, all making Yorkshire a must-visit destination. Here are some of our favourite glamping spots near Ingleborough.

The Dalesbridge

Set in 10 acres of beautiful, protected countryside, The Dalesbridge is the ideal base from which to explore the Yorkshire Dales National Park and Bowland Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.

There are plenty of accommodation options available, from newly built and fully insulated camping pods to the Lodge B&B. Renovated in 2019, the lodge is the ultimate in luxury with 6 en-suite king bedrooms, 1 single bedroom and a fantastic penthouse apartment suite.

There’s a bar on site and as well as serving breakfast and barista coffees, the highlight of your stay though will surely be their famous wood-fired pizza. The dough is freshly made by an award-winning local baker and then hand rolled and dressed on site before they enter the traditional wood oven. Their popularity means advance booking is advised as the dough is made fresh to order each week. It’s what Saturday nights were made for.

Open all year round, it’s the getaway you’ll still be thinking about when you’re back at your desk on Monday.

Knights Stainforth Hall

Just two miles north of the market town of Settle and just a stone’s throw from Ingleborough Cave, the Knight Stainforth Hall manor house, which once belonged to the Knight Templar, is steeped in history. Run by the same family for more than six centuries, it has been keeping campers happy for more than 80 years.

Campers can dine like kings at the on-site Knights Table café bar. Take some of their delicious homemade cakes with you on the trail and come back to their fabulous Sunday roast using beef from the family farm, to round off your weekend. The café and restaurant offer views from both inside and out. The perfect place to enjoy a glass of chilled rose after a hard day’s exploring and watch the sun set over the Dales – just what you came for!

Orcaber Farm

There’s nothing like sitting back and admiring a hard day’s work. Owners Neil and Gaynor want you to do just that at Orcaber Farm and will even deliver a firepit to your pitch to warm those tired toes.

This small, family run site offers camping and caravan sites in a quiet and relaxing location, but easily accessible being just half a mile from the A65.

The couple take great pride in their site and do not overfill, leaving lots of space for children, and, or adults, to play. They have opened a new field adjacent to the caravan site, which is super spacious and ideal for social distancing.

Just a short drive from Orcaber, or a beautiful walk via Austwick, brings you to the village of Clapham. This lovely Dales village has Clapham Beck running through it. The Beck’s waters have been on a caving journey down Gaping Gill, re-emerging from Ingleborough Cave before flowing down to the village. Right on your doorstep!

Peaks and Pods

Do you want to toast marshmallows round a blazing fire pit, soak in the warm water of a private hot tub, or indulge in an English breakfast hamper? Whatever floats your boat, owners Joanne and John have got you and your budget covered.

Providing everyone with a unique stay is the personal mission of owners, John and Joanne who have made Boustagill Farm their home since they married in 1995. From firepits, to private bathrooms and contemporary kitchenettes, to watching the cows munch the grass right in front of your pod and collecting the eggs from our hens, Peaks and Pods is the perfect place to recharge your batteries.

Whether you are relaxing on your wooden deck with uninterrupted views of the North Yorkshire countryside or a soaking in a private hot tub, everything is on hand to achieve a real laidback state. Prepare a romantic dinner together on your barbecue or throw a pizza into the farm’s wood-fired oven.

Outdoor lovers, hit the challenging trails and footpaths that surround us or explore the many towns and villages close-by that offer superb shopping, attractions and refreshments. Then get cosy in a well-equipped cedar-clad pod, with ensuite facilities or private bathroom.

You’ll never want to leave.

Wenningdale Escapes

Diamond in the Dales, just waiting to be discovered! Where else can you literally tee off from your back doorstep, oh alright, pod. Yes, seriously, not only do you get to enjoy their luxurious, bespoke pods, but there is a scenic 18 hole golf course in the foothills of the Three Peaks.

Wenningdale Escapes is just that, a comfortable glamping experience where you can escape from the stresses and strains of life. Their handmade pods have fantastic views over Bentham Golf Course and Ingleborough, one of the Yorkshire, Three-Peaks.

There is plenty of space to maintain social distancing and even a new online, contactless check-in process, so you can start enjoying your break from the minute you arrive.

Glamping in North Yorkshire is divine. Whether it’s the coast, the moors or simply the vast open countryside that fills the rest of the county, you can’t escape the natural beauty here… just the humdrum of your week.

Now you’ve got your accommodation sorted, it’s time to think about your itinerary!
